Laura Nadeau, the real singer

I've known some outstanding singers in my lifetime, but much of the time they only know their audience enough to be able to go for the schmooze aspect of singing a song; meaning that they really just effect the mannerisms rather than going for what they know and just singing, but sit back and let me change your mind and tell you about a real singer...
Laura Nadeau of Athens Ohio.
Folks, there are singers and then there are SINGERS...
I mean Patti LaBelle, Aretha,Vonda Shepard, Eva Cassidy and many more; well please, add the name of Ms.Laura Nadeau to your list of people that you must listen to.
Now I'm the kind of guy who likes and needs pictures painted when listening to singers, I like for them to use their voices and carry me away, so it's a joy for me when I know Ms.Laura is going to be joining us for a song or 10 because she raises the bar for my band...and then some.
I first met Laura when the Carpenter Ants played at the Blue Gator about 3 years ago. She was also there with her band Stella, which she is the frontlady, and to be honest, I was too focused on my Carpenter Ant job to really pay attention, so regretfully I didn't, and because of that I didn't see that Stella is really a power packed unit that goes for the jugular of emotions. I missed how they captured their crowd and moved them (Can I add, how stupid it was of me to do that ?!!).
Well, now that I do know, as the saying goes, I'm a changed man...
Recently we had the great fortune to gain the valued assistance of Laura on one of our new songs entitled "The Sausage Song." When she stepped up to the plate she completely changed my outlook, my beliefs and my feelings.Put simply, she sang her ASS off. Not too much longer, the Ants went on the road and I shared a ride with Ted Harrison (our bassist), he and I were enjoying the ride when he pulls out a CD by Stella entitled "Pony Girl,"needless to say, now I'm kicking myself because I had never heard the CD, and Laura kicked major rear end, singing ( I won't use that A** word twice, but you get the picture.)
Folks, Laura Nadeau is singer of major proportion, and I want to tell you that she can move you like no other, she can interpret a song like nobody's business and when she comes in to do a vocal part believe me it will bring a song roaring to life. To get the picture of what I'm saying, click on the Carpenter Ants link (above) and listen to her arrangement of our vocals on the Sausage Song, or pick up a copy of Pony Girl, or even better still drive up to Athens Ohio, and catch her with her great band Stella, and you'll see that Ms.Laura Nadaeu is...the real singer. You'll be overjoyed that you did.

Catch Laura Nadeau with Stella locally and regionally.
